WHO WE ARE
The Rivers State Tourism Development Agency (RSTDA)
is an agency of the Government of Rivers State in Nigeria, responsible for promoting and improving sustainable tourism development in the state, with the vision to transform the natural resources, cultural heritage and traditional hospitality of Rivers State into a globally recognized tourist attraction.

What we do
- Develop and organise carnivals and other such festivals as may enhance the tourism potentials of the State
- Generate funds for the sustenance of tourism in the state
- Conduct research and render consultancy and technical services
- Perform any other duties that are necessary for the efficient discharge of its function under this law
OURMandate
The leading source for our Drive
- To develop a tourism Blue Print for the State in liaison with The Ministry of Culture and Tourism
- Articulate and direct immediate medium and long-term programmes for the development of culture and tourism
- Earmark and classify culture and tourism sites in the State in order to encourage guided tours by tourists and visitors to the State
- Introduce and encourage the production of cultural and tourist crafts for the promotion and projection of the tourism of the State to national and international levels
- Design and development of boat regatta and other water sports to enhance the scope and quality of tourism in the State
- Organize Rivers State Carniriv and other cultural events
- Generate the revenue needed for the hosting of Rivers State Carnival and other cultural events
- Plan intra, inter-state and international cultural competitions and develop tourism programmes that will serve as exchanges programmes for improved carnival hosting and tourism potentials
- Engage in meaningful and profitable ventures that will enhance the organisation and hosting of carnival and cultural festivals
- Have powers of registration, classification and grading of hospitality and entertainment industry to ensure the standardisation of facilities and efficient service delivery in line with international standard
