The Rivers Yuletide DEcor #RYDE is an initiative of the Rivers State Tourism Development Agency (RSTDA) graciously endorsed by the Rivers State Government (RSG) with the sole purpose of creating a seasonal and celebratory ambience in the city at chosen and select locations with a look and feel that is a precursor to inbound tourism expected at such times.
This is a tradition that is consistent with what is observed in modern cities around the world.
In summary, #RYDE will be sustained with the active participation of the state’s organised private sector through sponsorship and brand visibility.

Governor Sim Fubara of Rivers State officially ushered in the Christmas season by commissioning the 2024 Christmas Lights display in Port Harcourt on Sunday, December 15th, at the GRA Junction. The city was transformed into a dazzling spectacle of colorful lights and festive decorations.The Christmas Lights display, sponsored by the Rivers State Government, Zenith Bank, Globus Bank, Hotel Presidential, and other partners, has become an annual tradition in Port Harcourt, attracting residents and visitors alike.
